I had laksa for dinner today. It's actually palatable, something I would scarf down. Maybe it's because it's from a Malaysian/Singaporean stall. The funny thing is, I don't particularly like laksa, even in xin chai poh, because the gravy from the various stalls will taste too milky/sour/weird/expired.....and because I keep in comparing the dish to the one sold when I was in primary school. NOTHING beats that one. =D The version of the dish sold here in that particular stall actually tasted pretty similar to the one that I like. =D Even my stringent uncle liked it.
Can't really update much, due to other concentrations and the snatching competition that happens everyday b/w my family members. I really hate it, I want a personal computer/laptop/tablet that I can junk my things on. It's not like I can rip the computer into half and it'll multiply like some miscelleanous bacteria. =X
I've found some similarity regarding people here and those back home. WHY IS IT WHEN I CUT MY HAIR THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS?!?!?!?!?
Common comments are: Hey, you cut your hair..it's nice..etcetcetc. =X
Sure, I like it, though my family says it looks pretty similar to my old one, but is it out of pure courtesy that you all say so? I can go get a buzzcut and people will still say the same thing. ==
I'm hoping to do some things in the summer, mainly learn some god damn languages coz the sch requires G9 in order to proceed( to hell with you guys), get a job(for clothes, movies, earrings and more piercings xD ), and improve my drawing skills. The problem is that of four wheels, since my Dad has the car and I'm not certified to drive all by my lonesome yet. Boo.
While stoning away in math class today, I discovered 5
other reasons for not handing in your homework:
1. My goat ate it. Unfortunately, it's only viable on farms. Perhaps my 6 month old sister/brother/monster ate it???
2. I left it at home. When teacher queries further, say something along the lines of : Do you want me to run home and get it? Do it with a slight angry tone, as if you're angry that the teacher doesn't trust you. My classmate actually attempted it in math. She gloated afterwards.
Note: May not work on all teachers.
3. If said homework is a worksheet of sorts, say that you've accidentally soaked the paper and now the words and such are illegible to the normal, sane human mind.
4. The old shredder excuse. I think most school offices have one.... make sure you have an office personnel as a 'witness'. =D
5. My fave. I was trying to save paper. In this sudden Green wave, it is reasonable and environmentally considerate to try and cut down our carbon footprints, every day there are rainforests the size of football fields being cut down due to our excessive usage of paper, etc.
Outcomes is as follows:
a) Teacher believes you
b) Teacher laughs/smiles/enjoys the smart ass act, so gives a warning
c) Teacher is not amused and gives you detention
Note: as option c) is the most likely, the author is not responsible for any mishaps you may face. =DDD
PS: To ms yanti: it's fine you read my blog as long as you don't blab( I know you!!!!) to other teachers. xD
PPS: TO LIYANA AND MICHELLE : What
great friends you two are. Note, I said that with sarcasm, as happy, hyper ex-debaters are likely to take this in the wrong way.

I realise the real reason why I don't drink Pepsi/Cola. I get HIGH~~~~~. Yesterday, we ate at Pizza Hut for dinner, and my family ordered the Pepsi pitcher. We , ok, me and Teri got
super super super high on the damn beverage. We became uber nice for no reason, like helping the rest to fill their plates with stuff and refilling drinks. There was an alternative exit of that place near to our tables, so me and Teri hatched a plot to run away and don't pay for our food because the cheena lady waitress was uber horrible.
So, we tried to get the family in the plan with us, so we replied: we'll just run to the car with our coats and then wear it inside the car. Then my sister started counting down.
Teri: 1,2,3...
Jessica: What bullshit, be more realistic lar!!!
Teri: Then what?!
Jessica: Count to 5!!!
We actually got up and started for the door before we realised that no one followed us. Too bad. =(
And I wonder why I don't get high on coffee......maybe 3 cups will do it.
AAARRGGHH!!! Options for post secondary education are so damn confusing. My female parent wanted me to make alternatives in case my initial plan went bonkers, so I went online to check out the various universities and stuff....figuring I probably could do something in Biology and stuff.
Then I realised that I needed the subjects required for the courses, which in turn led to evaluating my chosen courses for next year, which in turn led me to realise that the whole system was fucked up and needed a redo, cause AP courses take the equivalent of 2 subjects. I still don't know whether to cut out Com.Sc or just take the regular Biology and Chemistry course, which my inner kiasu Singaporean doesn't want. Calculus and crap I wanted too, coz I'm guessing it's mainly repeats of Amath = easy grade. =D
Still trying to figure this headache out.
I missed the Math competition that my teacher told, or recommended me to attend. Reason: It clashed with art in the 1st period, and I was already in the art class ..... + portfoilio to complete whose deadline is tomorrow. Then in physics, there were a few people who attended the thing and I said that I missed it....they started crying: "WHY?!?! HOW CAN YOU NOT GOOOO!!!!!"
Stuff like that.
Oh, and my physics teacher is really ridiculous. He left our test papers in his car, presumely in the boot as they got wet. So he left them out the whole night trying to dry them = never marked. The exasperating thing is that he had more than the 4 days to mark the damn thing, as we did the test on Mon or Tue last week, and he only attempted to do so yesterday. WTF? Then he said that he estimated that majority of us didn't do so well. Excuses, anyone?

In the process of reading a book,
The god delusion, by Richard Dawkins..
.. and I do think it's been pretty interesting so far, mainly because it's a science vs religion debate, and I'm eager to see how he phrases his arguements. This book reminds me of my own view on atheism in some ways, and memories as well, particulary those during debate meetings.
Once, it was raining, and all of you guys joked that it's because I was not religious. It happened on several occasions and I'm actually happy that I have some power like that. xDDD
Moving on, this book has given me an insight into that issue...and consolidates several views of my own.
1. If God created us in His fashion, then why would he bestow miracles, help etc on us? Afterall, I would rather bet he'd stay up there and watch all of this drama. Keyword being entertainment.
2. Quoted from a good friend of mine, she says that from the logical point of things, she feels that God does not exist, but is obligated to be a good Christian. Maybe this is the feeling of most people, no matter from what religion. I felt that this proved that religion was an emotional issue......
3. Yup, the most religions in the world today, preaching about peace and God and other stuff, are ironically wrought in blood. Where'd the peace go?
4. I like to think that we created God , as a concept for us to lean on for support. What else better , to think that there is someone 'higher' who controls our lives? He then provides us with a reason to be a 'good' person, to commit several things and put blame on. It is not our fault, because everything is destined by Him. O=
I feel that the reaosn why most people conform to religion and lead 'good' lives is due to our base fear of pain, to avoid punishment in the next life..or something similar. Majority would try to accumulate good deeds and be a good Christian, for example, because they wish to enter Paradise and not end up under the Earth.
Ok, enough of my own views, though surprisingly, this author thought that Confuctionism was an ethical way of living life..or something like that. =D
Since Friday was PA day, and Mon is Family day, I have very long weekend. Somehow, I'm both glad and unused to this many holidays, though I somehow regret the fact that the day is so short...so I have almost done nothing fruitful. =( Went to an artstore yesterday, but the markers that I want are so expensive( $37.95 for 12)..and my dad's a total miser when it comes to these things. Mainly explored the nearby mall as well, but this weather has an unexpected sleepy effect; I feel like sleepy around 4-5 pm....that is NOT a good thing.
Commitee service requirements are still unmet....I need 20 hrs before I can graduate, and this is a total pain in the neck. I really just-can't-be-bothered to search out options to do volunteering...it's a total waste of my time, I reckon.
Regarding the evaluation test I took on Thur, I passed, but with 64%..... kind of made me pissed off but then again, I only had 1hr as apposed to the actual limit of 1.5 hrs. Then I had to reschedule my timetable, but they only have G12 functions in the first timeslot, which clashed with my art slot, also only 1 available. You probably guessed which one I chose. On hindsight, it means I could spend more time doodling . =D

Today was Course Selection Day... didn't know they have weird days like this. So I spent 1/2 hr looking at a course fair of sorts..... some teachers went too set up booths to give you more information on that particular type of course, etc, etc. Apparantly mandatory for all grades.
However, since my homeform teacher set up the booths, I didn't get some option sheet.....so will probably fill in my choices tomorrow?
Ostensibly taking:
Art G12
Art: Media Art
Computer Sc G11
World Issues or something similar
English ( compulsory...bleah)
AP Biology
Ap Chemistry
Some other random subject....thinking of calculus/vectors or functions G12. Again, more
BLEAH.
*Note, this is for whole of next year, not occuring at the same time. You want me to check into hospital?! ( Stop sniggering, the lot of you. I KNOW who you are!!!!!)
Both science teachers said I
should take the AP sciences....since I was doing so well in them.( and they know I learnt some of it before) == What's up with people saying I should do something related to the chim stuff?!
If I pass the evaluation test tomorrow,I can do calculus next year. If not, I'm just going to do G12 Functions.
Info: G12 Functions is needed before you can do G12 Calculus. So mafan. What an f-ing migrane I'm having. Excuse me while I go wolf down 12716t2847 L of coffee.
Ok, more info about teachers this term. Lucky me has acquired 75% worth of teachers who can't seem to speak properly. =O
1. Math- Russian femme with a SUPER SI BEH strong accent. Ask suchk, alvost evrythik vill vound lyk thizk. No, she's no Sharapova, probably looks like her grandma. Still, she does go through everything if we ask......
2. Physics- BANGLA man. Who has an unnerving penchant to ramble off by himself, explaining things which are incomprehensible to the rest of the class.
As such, he goes: *Writes problem on board*
*Proceeds to do problem*
* Gives slight,( ok not slight, microscopic) explaination.*
*proceeds to do another problem/or read through notes if nobody questions him.*
Lesson learnt: ask if unsure. Or else he will never bring it up again.
3. Com.Sc. Presumely cheena teacher with a 1/2 cheena 1/2 angmoh accent....... mispronounces her words occasionally. Likes to give quizzes on little pieces of paper, and ask only 1 question each time. What kind of quiz is that?!
4. Art - FINALLY, the only one who can make herself understood. Nothing much, she mainly leaves us to our own devices to let us do projects she assigned. Really nice though, but then again, all of them are. Switches on the radio for music during lesson times. =D

Just a short one... my mom is nagging. Jeez. ==
A short profile of all the teachers I had last term.....3 of whom are slightly eccentric.....
1: Biology teacher...ostensibly Korean. People says she's hard, I say it's the damn subject. Though she makes jokes occasionally, the real attraction lies in her penchant of whamming the OHP whenever the light starts to fade(she says she's FIXING it). Oh, and she apparently drives without a license?! Spilled this tasty tidbit over random conversation.....
2: Chemistry teacher...Black and tall. REALLY TALL. Like maybe 2-2.5 heads taller than me? No shit. Apparently graduated from Cambridge...or so I heard...but he likes to leave us to our own devices. == which is BOR-ING. He also likes to relate chem issues to present ones.
Eg, why do we only put 1 H on all four sides of a carbon? Do girls like to share the same stalls?.....most guys started laughing at this.
3: Gym teacher. I think she's Polish? In good shape for around 40+years??Pretty cool, she's the nicest one I met so far. No scolding or strict reprimanding. She even doesn't make a fuss when others( a LOT of others), skip her class. She just fails them. =D
4: English teacher. She's a bit like those chio teacher types.... but likes to go on about books and their inner significence. Has travelled to a lot of places....likes telling us about them.Weirdest thing to date? Bringing us to a SCIENCE CENTRE for a supposedly English field trip.
Note: Most teachers do not finish the syallabus a.k.a whole textbook on time. As such, they omit those chapters...since they set the exams.
Ja Ne!
